Job DescriptionAs an Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our mission by driving financial performance, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, improving operational efficiency, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the organization’s goals. You will work closely with the accounting team and partner cross-functionally to serve both internal and external stakeholders, helping us better support the churches and ministries we serve.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead the monthly and annual close process, including reconciliations, account analysis, and preparation of financial statements, to ensure accurate and timely financial reportingMaintain the company’s general ledger and supporting documentation to preserve the integrity of financial recordsDevelop, implement, and maintain accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls to strengthen financial operationsOversee member invoicing, accounts receivable collections, accounts payable, and vendor payments to improve cash flow and operational efficiencyManage multi-state sales tax requirements and reporting to ensure ongoing complianceMonitor treasury functions and company spending to support strong financial stewardshipAssist with the preparation of the annual budget to contribute to organizational planningSupervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members to build a high-performing teamPrepare schedules and maintain required documentation for the annual audit to support a successful audit processProcess bi-weekly payroll for approximately 50 employees to ensure employees are paid accurately and on timeTake ownership of additional projects and responsibilities as business needs evolveQualificationsA Successful Candidate Will:Drive Results by consistently achieving benchmarks, even under tough circumstances; and persists in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles and setbacks.Be Action Oriented to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.Plan & Align by prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goalsUtilize Business Insight to keep up with current practices and trends in the organization, competition, and in the marketplace.Be Tech Savvy by anticipating and adopting innovations in business-building digital and technology applicationsCollaborate and work cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectivesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldStrong technical knowledge of GAAP, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and internal controlsProficiency with Sage Intacct, including data entry, invoicing, and reportingAdvanced Excel skills, with the ability to perform ad hoc analysis and reportingProven experience leading, supervising, or managing team membersPreferred QualificationsCPA certificationProficiency with Microsoft Office and Google WorkspaceExperience using RampExperience processing payroll through PaylocityOffice RequirementsWe are a fully distributed team (100% remote) with travel sometimes required 1-2 times per year.A stable work environment with designated workspace and access to high-speed internet.US-based and legally able to work full time in the US.
