Responsibilities

Role Summary: - We need a specialized BIM Modeler to convert existing AutoCAD fire protection drawings into Revit models for a 10+ story residential tower. - This is strictly a modeling role—no design, hydraulic calculations, or code interpretation is required. - You will replicate 2D plans (including standpipes, sprinklers, and valves) into a 3D BIM model to ensure construction compliance with NFPA 14 and IBC. Key Responsibilities: - Convert AutoCAD DWG files (fire protection plans) into Revit models without modifying layouts. - Model standpipes, sprinklers, valves, and fire alarms per the original 2D drawings. - Conduct clash detection between fire protection systems and structural elements (e.g., beams, ducts). - Export models for construction documentation (e.g., .RVT, .IFC files). - Verify model accuracy against NFPA 14 Section 5.3.2 (standpipe spacing, coverage). Experience: - 2+ years modeling fire protection systems in Revit for high-rise residential buildings (>10 stories). - Proven work with AutoCAD-to-Revit workflows (no design experience). Technical Skills: - Revit MEP (specifically Fire Protection tools). - NFPA 14 compliance knowledge (standpipe requirements, coverage zones). - Clash detection in Navisworks (required for high-rises). Nice-to-Haves: - Experience with RFI (Request for Information) resolution in BIM workflows. - Familiarity with building codes (IBC Chapter 9, NFPA 101). - Ability to generate construction-ready drawings from the Revit model. - Florida Building Experience.
