This is a highly visible, hands-on role responsible for executing the legal function across a broad range of disciplines, including commercial, regulatory, compliance, corporate governance, and employment matters.This individual will act as a trusted advisor to leadership, enabling the business to move quickly while managing risk appropriately. The ideal candidate is pragmatic, solutions-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary legal advisor to organization on all legal, regulatory, and compliance mattersDraft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including:Commercial and sales agreements (customers, distributors, GPOs)Vendor and supply agreementsClinical trial agreements and investigator contractsProvide legal guidance on FDA regulatory matters, promotional review, and interactions with healthcare professionals in a medical device environmentPartner with Sales, Marketing, and Clinical teams to support compliant commercialization strategiesEstablish and oversee compliance frameworks, including healthcare compliance, anti-kickback, fraud and abuse, and HIPAA considerationsSupport corporate governance activities, including Board materials, investor communications, and strategic transactionsAdvise on employment-related matters in partnership with HR, including policies, investigations, and risk mitigationTrack and manage federal, state, and local compliance filingsPartner with finance for risk mitigation strategies and insurance coverageSupport intellectual property strategy in coordination with external counselManage external legal counsel efficiently, ensuring high-quality support and cost disciplineBuild scalable legal processes, templates, and policies to support company growthQualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing12+ years of legal experience, including a combination of law firm and in-house experience preferredPrior experience in medical device, biotech, and/or pharmaceutical industries requiredStrong working knowledge of FDA regulations, healthcare compliance, and commercial contractingExperience supporting high-growth or venture-backed companies strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to operate as a generalist across multiple legal disciplinesStrong business judgment with the ability to balance risk and speed in decision-makingExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
