The RealReal is seeking a Senior Cloud Database Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a member of the Technical Operations team, you will be responsible for leading the administration and operation of the company's relational cloud-based databases. This role involves designing, building, and evolving the database infrastructure, collaborating with various Technology teams, and ensuring data privacy standards are met. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in building and maintaining highly available cloud-based relational database infrastructure in AWS, as well as expertise in database security, data privacy regulations, and infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation. Responsibilities: - Design, build, and evolve database infrastructure across production and non-production environments - Collaborate with Engineers from various Technology teams on complex problems involving functionality, scaling, and performance - Deliver training and best practices to Technology teams to improve the overall quality of database queries and performance - Drive troubleshooting teams towards solutions during emergency production incidents - Collaborate with Security and Engineering teams to ensure data privacy standards are met - Keep a strong level of quality and velocity in work, while collaborating and reporting when appropriate - Exercise and promote security best practices with respect to database management - Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to incidents reliably and professionally
