Requirements and responsibilities
An early-stage, Techstars-backed SaaS company is building a finance-first AI platform that verticalizes generative AI for investment banking and high-finance workflows. The product helps firms ingest private deal data and draft CIPs, management presentations, diligence memos, and other deliverables 10× faster, enabling them to close deals sooner and serve more clients. The platform already has paying customers in production.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Technical Strategy & Architecture:
* Define and own the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for the platform.
* Architect scalable SaaS solutions from the ground up, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.
* Contribute hands-on to the codebase (~50% of the time) while guiding overall system design and standards.
Drive Product Development:
* Translate business requirements into technical specifications and end-to-end product solutions.
* Oversee development of AI/ML and LLM-powered workflows, ensuring practical, production-ready implementations.
* Partner directly with the CEO to align technical decisions with product vision and business goals.
Scale Engineering Operations:
* Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Implement best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to enable rapid iteration without compromising quality.
* Manage infrastructure, cloud environments (Azure/Google Cloud), and third-party vendors effectively.
Ensure Quality, Security & Compliance:
* Establish and enforce rigorous security, compliance, and performance standards for a finance-focused platform.
* Monitor system health, proactively address risks, and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements in high-stakes industries.
Collaborate & Communicate:
* Act as a bridge between engineering, business, and customers, ensuring clarity, alignment, and transparency.
* Represent the engineering function in executive conversations, board meetings, and customer-facing interactions.
* Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
