About the RoleOur client is a technology-driven property management company operating a portfolio of over 560+ single-family homes across three U.S. markets. We’re looking for a Lead Accountant to lead all accounting operations, from corporate financials to trust accounting compliance, as we continue to scale.You’ll take ownership of corporate books, cash flow management, trust accounting accuracy, and partner with leadership to strengthen financial discipline and transparency. This is a hands-on and strategic role ideal for a detail-oriented professional with property management accounting experience and a strong grasp of trust accounting principles.Success in the first 3–6 months means:Producing accurate and timely monthly financialsEstablishing strong reconciliation and trust accounting controlsImproving reporting efficiency and cash flow visibilityBuilding or optimizing internal/external accounting processesKey ResponsibilitiesCorporate Accounting & Financial ManagementMaintain and manage corporate general ledger and financial statementsOversee cash management, intercompany transactions, and internal controlsPrepare monthly financial reports and variance analysesSupport strategic planning, cash flow forecasting, and KPI reportingTrust Accounting OversightReview and approve all property management accounting entries for compliance and accuracyReconcile trust bank accounts and ensure adherence to trust accounting standardsAudit owner statements, management fees, and reserve balancesSupervise internal or third-party accountants handling property-level financialsPayables, Receivables & ReconciliationManage owner distributions, management fees, and reservesReview vendor invoices, GL coding, and utility billablesAudit and reconcile all bank accounts and corporate credit cards (Divvy)Oversee Section 8 and tenant payment postings, refunds, and move-out accountingCompliance & ReportingPrepare and distribute 1099s and support annual tax filingsMaintain audit-ready financial documentation and ensure regulatory complianceCoordinate with external auditors, CPAs, and vendors as neededCollaboration & LeadershipManage and develop accounting team members or oversee outsourced accounting partnersCollaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure accuracy and efficiencyContribute to monthly financial reviews and provide actionable insightsRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in property management or real estate accountingStrong knowledge of trust accounting and experience with Rentvine or similar PMSAdvanced proficiency in Excel, reconciliations, and financial reportingStrong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and organizational skillsProven ability to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesEnglish: C1 or higherAvailability to work U.S. business hours (EST or CST)Compensation & LogisticsSalary: USD $30000 - $36000/yearBonus: Annual, performance-based tied to KPIsTime Zone: U.S. working hoursBenefits: Paid Time Off (PTO)Contract Type: Full-time, remote from Latin America
