Creative Advisor | AV and Multimedia Communicator | Researcher | Sailing Instructor.
Cundinamarca, Colombia
I'm a professional in the Audiovisual and multimedia communication field, especially in Audiovisual analysis and research. Widely more experienced in hands-on AV production, from pre to post, in different departments.
I have strengthened this technical and theoretical knowledge due to +3 year of extensive experience in a Multimedia Production Center at its TV studio, Photographic studio, Sound studio, and Edition labs. Where I became proficient and fast learner for hardware and software for image, video, and sound.
Simultaneously, I got experienced in roles that also required technical fluency along theory and intellectual skills to be dynamically applied at real-case scenarios in institutional environments, such as marketing, internal communications, and advertising projects.
One of the main achievements from then was gaining awareness and dexterity of method. I’m focus to detail, and I tend to surpass expectations if proper preparation is given place and time (research, targeting, budgeting, design, planning, analysis, tests, dialogue, and so on). This may seem as a stubborn and a rigid workflow but is rather the opposite, as having that kind of clarity and coherence (context) allows me to be more resourceful, clever, and flexible. In this way, the outcomes are mature and more substantial as I perform with enthusiasm and direction. In a shorter sentence: My technique is integral (of argumentative preference) and –if possible– will choose depth over distance.
((From here on you may think that I’m detouring on what could look like unrelated experience. ¡But don’t swipe just yet!
This IS my experience, a brief look on how I’ve branch out in terms of intellect, visions and missions. This will give you a better glance of who am I))
My vision kept evolving as the technical aspects can be somewhat overweighted –in terms of importance and investment– when compared to the attention given to the message/purpose of the overall of productions. This took me further from the first-line action and moved my sight into academic views, writing, creative advising on some other related topics that are closer to deeper approaches to (and into) the field and the making in itself.
My academic development took me closer to philosophy, anthropology, psychology, and esthetics studies, or what some may call ‘Cultural Studies’. From these, my perception, intellect, and interests have only grown wider and deeper. Although I’ve walked this path shortly: I completed an outstanding thesis. At the same time, I got selected and awarded with a complete grant from the USA State Department and the Colombian Sciences Ministry for young researchers.
Then…
Then COVID-19 pandemic and many changes took place. During that long season, I turned into the community life. Activities around wellness and support of the community were engaged as the social-economic reality of this community is vulnerable and –in terms of money– considerably below the average. My contributions were pro bono and focused on interior design, remodeling and refurnishing with the resources at hand and a huge basis on the importance of nature in the day-to-day life.
That approach to interiors became a spark in the confined lifestyle we were all in, and it got outside in forms of gardens and a growing permaculture that has taught us so much… Those lessons, although transformative, will be a huge detour if mentioned now, in an already super long resume. Nevertheless, I’d love to talk more about this if you are interested.
In that contemplative and naturalistic season, I started working again as a Sailing Instructor while keeping care of my interior life, getting back in touch with the arts and writing. Later, and alongside sailing, I worked as an educator/researcher in a mountain-school that uses alternative teaching methods. My time there was possible for my affinity and experience with education, working with young people, and particularly in the communication and language field, where I also developed as a researcher, approaching from my previous research line of ‘Knowledge Construction’.
If you got this far, I truly appreciate your time and attention. And just to sum-up that monologic chatter:
I’m a Creative advisor experienced in video and image making (from pre to post). Very interested in arts and culture. Eager to learn and grow, willing to face new challenges and go through different paths (but preferably make new ones).
I'm liable, resourceful, and very humorous. I have a curious mind and many many hobbies. Good at soloing, better at teamwork. Fast learner, (too) talkative, ingenious, relentlessly curious and –mainly– I have a very sharp eye.
Let’s get things done.
