Currently serving as a member of New Ventures at Civicom and Corporate Innovation Advisor at NetworkVC.org. Until 2021, Mamoon was engaged at Rokk3r Labs as a Sr. Strategist - a leading Venture Capital and Venture Builder firm in Florida eco-system - which manages a portfolio of 200+ corporate innovation ventures and 50+ investments.
Prior to working at Rokk3r Labs, Mamoon led the cross-border Venture Capital and accelerator arm of Accathon Capital, as a Principal and Managing Partner.
Mamoon focuses on investments in/building technologies such as Cyber Security, FinTech, Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Drone technologies, VR/AR and SaaS. Prior to entering Venture Capital, Mamoon lead product development and strategy execution for three venture capital backed startups based in NYC. A Computer Engineer at heart with two engineering degrees under his belt, he has previously also served as the Research Lead for a 16-member R&D team in a NFL/NYU Langone Medical Center project, for which he explored the use of machine learning solutions in the treatment of autism and epilepsy detection; as well as symptom analytics. While a Masters candidate at NYU, he also authored a major journal paper publication on the automated tracking and quantification of a Microsoft Kinect-based Concussion Monitoring System by developing state-of-the-art facial recognition and body motion mapping algorithms. His work got featured in the 22nd Medicine Meets Virtual Reality Conference, Florida (2016).
An advocate for clean energy and smart energy storage/consumption technologies, Mamoon has a special passion for driving strategic growth and business development for startups focused on renewable energy and reforestation. Previously Mamoon has researched solutions for enhancing large-scale renewable energy storage battery lives by up to 300% through device analytics and proprietary (patent pending) optimization algorithms. He holds a green belt in Kyokushin karate and enjoys a competitive game of Squash.
