Wabo Majavu is currently the Head of Department: Product Management at SENTECH. Prior to this was the Head of Department: Network Management Systems. Wabo's extensive experience in telecommunications, engineering and research includes: Managing network planning and optimisation functions (RAN and Core) at MTN and Research leadership in the development of network systems and problem solving at Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). As a member of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) and academic involvement in peer-review of technical papers, her career objectives are to apply the skills and experience acquired in strategy formulation and implementation within engineering and ICT in senior leadership roles thus ensuring technological advancement for commercial and social benefit. Experience and knowledge include leading various projects for mobile, wireless and broadcast networks and implementation of modern Technology solutions and strategy formulation. Current role as Head: Product Management entails leading the division towards Strategic Product management and development for digital broadcasting and converged content distribution services namely: Terrestrial Broadcasting Services, Digital Media Services, Data Connectivity Services and Public Safety Solutions. Wabo's personal management style is influenced by a pragmatic nature with a tenacious drive towards future possibilities coupled with commercial and technical aptitude. As a robust, direct and keen strategist she is decisive, industrious and energetic in leading execution plans. Her many accomplishments are achieved mainly through determination and perseverance in reaching excellence, while remaining logical, analytical and objectively critical.
