Macy Schmidt

A first-generation Egyptian-American, Macy Schmidt has forged an unprecedented career, equal parts creative & producorial. By the age of 26, she has already been named a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, won her first Tony Award as a co-producer, and become the first & only woman-of-color orchestrator in Broadway history. With an impressive resumé of high-profile international engagements spanning the globe — from Music Supervising entertainment pieces for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, to projects in the UK, the Middle East, and India — Macy has quickly risen to the top of her field as an artist, a businesswoman, and an advocate for women in entertainment. Through her celebrated career as a Broadway orchestrator, music supervisor, Sony Music recording artist, and founder of renowned all-women orchestra The Sinfonietta, Schmidt marries a unique blend of “creative” and “executive,” taking a creative direction & curator role — most recently for clients such as The Walt Disney Company, the Tony Awards, and Forbes Abu Dhabi. As an executive producer, Schmidt has been at the forefront of developing innovative musical theatre content through digital mediums to reach global audiences, with recent clients including TikTok, Serotonin, and Media Monks. As an advisor and consultant, Schmidt has worked across the globe, from Europe to Asia to the Middle East and beyond, and is passionate about the expansion of musical entertainment ventures in the gulf Middle East. Her entertainment advisory firm also offers consulting services to organizations in the for-profit entertainment industry on diversity, equity, and inclusion, budgets, corporate sponsorships, and entertainment direction for events or conferences. A board member across both non-profit and public organizations and frequent speaker, Schmidt is passionate about elevating women’s voices, bridging the gap between creative vision and access to financial capital, and creating work with musical grandeur at the forefront of storytelling. She is also a beginner art collector, and early-stage angel investor.
