I worked as part of a team on a Smart Helmet project. The team are developing an NFL helmet to minimize brain injury by predicting collisions and responding to minimize the impact on the brain. My involvement was developing and testing methods of collision prediction including software-defined radar, ultrawide-band and narrow-band localization and ranging. Localization and ranging was developed on a Beaglebone Black with custom capes. Part of my responsibility was board assembly. This involved placing components and baking with a reflow oven, testing, fault finding and commissioning the custom boards. All embedded coding was done in C and I used Matlab for data analysis.

    Griffith University Medal
    Griffith University
    Nov 2017
In September of 1980 and after a number of years of discussion, the Griffith Council decided to approve the introduction of the University Medal. The Medal was originally intended to be awarded to bachelor degree graduates who received first class honours and who displayed a very high standard of academic results throughout their degree program. The decision was also made to bestow the medal retrospectively upon previous students who had met the conditions for this award, prior to 1980. The University Medal remains a distinguished award. From its inception through to today it has not been intended to present the Medal annually, but rather on occasion as a recognition of rare academic excellence.
