Laura Camila Ocampo Ramirez

I am a mathematician and I’m currently working as a data science in a startup called Chiper. About my formal education, I focused it on applied mathematics, and completed it with a minor in economics because I’m curious about the way mathematics fits with real world problems. In my job, I apply statistical, optimization and computational tools and I have also learned management of databases and code version control tools. Specifically, the projects in which I have worked includes developing a web scraper of the websites of the competing companies in order to extract pricing data and compare them with ours. I created a categorization models that automatically assigns a category to old and new references in the portafolio. I made certain fixes to the search bar with natural language processing. And currently I lead a pricing model which I am developing with Markov decision process.
