John Gachunga

As a FrontEnd Developer at Workpay, I develop robust React and React applications, for Web, IOS and Android platforms, delivering seamless user experiences and optimized performance. I leverage native development to enhance application functionality, integrating platform-specific features efficiently. I also implement comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.

Before joining Workpay in May 2023, I spearheaded the development of scalable fullstack JavaScript applications at KeenEye, utilizing Next.js, React, Nest.js, Node.js, and Express. I led the implementation of deployment strategies on AWS and Google Cloud Platform using Docker containers, and actively contributed to the architecture and design of software solutions. I also coded using React/Sass/Next JS and Vue to develop features for both mobile and desktop platforms, and conducted automation testing using cypress. I graduated from Masinde Muliro University of science and technology with a degree in Computer Science in 2015, and I have strong skills in TDD, Laravel, and Angular. I am passionate about creating innovative and user-friendly software solutions that solve real-world problems and add value to customers.
