    Mechanical Controls Project
    May 2015
    - Goal: Design a control system consisting of a four bar linkage, motor, propeller with safety covering, and sensor with the ability to respond to outside disturbances without added input. System height must be controlled via computer input and real time height must be graphed and displayed on a projector for the audience. The overall system must be linear with no pre-programmed control functions or tuning methods. - Mechanical System: Consists of a four bar linkage, support tower, acrylic base, bearing preload spacers, bearings, and motor mount. The system was modeled using SolidWorks and all parts were 3D printed except for the bearings, acrylic base, and hardware. - Electrical System: Arduino was selected as an easy to use open sour

SCURR Southern California Conference for Undergraduate Research Presenter
    Nov 2015
Attended and gave an oral presentation on Cal Poly Pomona's aquaponics research titled "Water Conservation In A Sustainable Food Production System." at the Southern California Conference for Undergraduate Research. The conference was held at Harvey Mudd college in Claremont California. Abstract "Aquaponics is a sustainable food production process which utilizes a closed-loop symbiotic cycle to produce fish and crops without soil or synthetic fertilizers. Ammonia from the bodily excretions of the fish is converted to nitrates and nitrites by means of a bacterial filtration process and used to fertilize the crops. In turn, the plants remove harmful chemicals from the water, which is then returned to the fish tanks to complete the cycle. T
