James Fletcher

Senior, hands-on recruiting strategist with 15+ years of experience owning full-cycle recruiting (sourcing through close) across technical, product, and GTM roles in fast-paced startup environments. I operate as an execution-first individual contributor: personally sourcing, screening, and closing candidates while partnering directly with CTOs, engineering leaders, and executives. I do not seek people management or a Head-of-Talent track. While I have taken on increased responsibility and scope over time due to delivery and trust, my preference and highest impact have consistently been hands-on recruiting, sourcing research, and direct ownership of hiring outcomes. I can be dropped into any recruiting environment and operate effectively within existing constraints—prioritizing immediate hiring delivery and adjusting systems or processes only as needed to support speed, quality, and candidate experience. I always stay hands-on; any past people-management responsibility occurred only during peak hiring periods and I am equally comfortable scaling that responsibility back down to remain focused on direct recruiting execution. High-intensity, in-person startup environments are familiar to me and part of why I enjoy the work. Currently developing AI-assisted workflows to support research, outreach, and pipeline management.
