I am a senior, hands on leader with a history of improving reporting, policies/procedures and internal controls of both small to medium sized and entrepreneurial companies within fast paced finance and accounting operations.
I graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a BBA in Finance and was a CPA for 15 years prior to leaving the corporate world and running my own business.
My core competencies include the following:
- Developing a strong internal control environment by documenting month end close policies &
procedures and business processes
- Creating and enhancing Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Forecasting, Strategic Planning,
KPIs and Modeling
- Staying current with U.S. GAAP revenue recognition rules, specifically ASC 606
- Authoring Sarbanes-Oxley Documentation, Testing, Compliance & Reporting
- Coordinating internal, external, state/local and regulatory compliance audits
- Implementing Treasury Operations and Credit/Collections policies and procedures
- Creating formalized Human Resources policies & procedures
- Building strong teams, training and mentoring
Throughout my career, some of my most PROMINENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS have been the following:
* Creating financial reporting packages and variance analysis reports that have provided management with the information they needed to understand where the business stands and what factors have contributed to actual versus planned results
* Designing and creating customer and telecommunications Access databases that expedited the contract renewal process and the collection of $2 million-plus in back-billed communication lines.
* Reviewing, selecting and implementing systems to improve productivity such as the PeopleSoft e-Procurement package that enable the company to track a $10 million CAPEX budget by monitoring the approval process and providing a clear understanding of what has been budgeted versus requisitioned YTD, the Certify T&E Expense Management system that resulted in the accurate reporting of expenses and timely reimbursement to employees and the ADP payroll and ezLabor systems resulting in the automated tracking of employee PTO. I've also implemented and upgraded QuickBooks applications from stand alone or Online versions to the cloud based Enterprise version allowing for the consolidation of financial information for four operating entities.
