  • OneImaging
    Lead Software Architect
    OneImaging
    May 2024 - Current (2 years 5 months)
I guide and help build the OneImaging platform to scale, and am currently leading the software engineering team. OneImaging is a cloud based radiology benefits service that improves access and significantly reduces costs for those seeking medical imaging. We take a mono-repo approach and run a MERN stack to develop HIPAA & SOC II compliant web applications. Critical considerations for the platform include data integrity & interoperability, scalability of services, security, ease of use & UX.

    Nov 2022 - Nov 2023 (1 year 1 month)
Building cloud based radiology platforms for portable diagnostic ultrasonography devices, supporting clinicians in the shift to lightweight point-of-care ultrasound for all.
  • Philips
    Software Engineer
    Philips
    Sep 2019 - Nov 2022 (3 years 3 months)
Building clinical software integrated with MRI and CT imaging systems to assist healthcare workers throughout patient care within radiology and cardiology disciplines. This platform aims to fix ineffective hospital processes to allow for improved physician and hospital staff experience, better analytics and more patient face time.
  • Trimwire
    Software Engineer
    Trimwire
    May 2018 - Dec 2019 (1 year 8 months)
Developing secure platforms to support patients in accessing a transparent database of medical procedure costs with visibility into its provider, coverage and the negotiation of unjustified medical bills:

Medical Bill Negotiation & Price Transparency Platform:
Stack: (MERN + TypeScript & GraphQL w/ Docker)
    ● Developed a web platform for users to negotiate medical bills, view and compare prices for healthcare procedures at different providers.
    ● Integrated a custom medical search engine that is able to semantically match relevant medical procedures containing medical jargon searched for by users in layman's terms.

    Data Privacy & Provencance Platform:
    ● Making use of zero knowledge proofs to retrie
  • Scene Health
    Software Engineer - Full Stack
    Scene Health
    Aug 2017 - Mar 2018 (8 months)
We develop mobile and web applications to streamline treatment plans for Tuberculosis, Hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS and Opioid Use Disorder to improve medication adherence, and make it more accessible internationally.

    - Developed a Tornado, KnockoutJS and MySQL based web application on the emocha platform. Lead the integration of smart-pill bottles into the platform, designed to be used by chronic kidney disease patients for a clinical study on improving medication adherence.

    - Implemented the Agile methodology (SCRUM) using JIRA to track sprint progress. Communicated progress, blockers, and ideas in daily scrum meetings, sprint planning, and refinement sessions.
  • emocha Health
    Software Development Intern
    emocha Health
    Jun 2016 - Aug 2016 (3 months)
∗ Built endpoints and handlers for the emocha REST API built on Tornado / Knockout.js / MySQL. Added a Node.js based functional test kit for the emocha app: an international web & mobile medication adherence platform designed to improve the treatment process of opioid addiction, and infectious diseases such as TB, Hep. C.

∗ Designed & developed data analytics dashboards that measure and report performance metrics about the emocha Platform.
  • The Johns Hopkins University
    Research Assistant
    The Johns Hopkins University
    Jan 2016 - Jan 2017 (1 year 1 month)
Provided software engineering, EEG data analysis, and data pipeline setup support for Neuromedical Control Systems Lab lead by Sridevi Sarma, Ph.D at the Institute for Computational Medicine:

    ● Developed modules for EZ-Track: An EEG driven learning based program that assists physicians in locating the onset zone of epilepsy in the brain prior to treatment of drug resistant epilepsy. Packaged software from previous MATLAB version into Python.

    ● Analyzed intracranial and scalp EEG data to understand the network dynamics of the brain. Used network analysis and built classifiers to identify trends in the EEG signals to determine the onset zone of epilepsy in patients within higher confidence than current clinical methods
  • Comodo
    Software Engineering Intern
    Comodo
    Dec 2015 - Jan 2016 (2 months)
    ● Worked with the software engineering team on improving detection capabilities and research scaling options for the anti-spam email filtering product KoruMail®.

    ● Analyzed and compared efficiencies of cluster computing tools to improve the anti-spam filter (Apache Hadoop vs Spark).

    ● Introduced Apache Spark to the team and assisted with initial integration onto the platform to test machine learning applications.
  • Northwestern University
Molecular Dynamics Researcher (REU - NSF Funded)
    Northwestern University
    Jun 2015 - Aug 2015 (3 months)
Simulated protein interactions at Keten Lab assisting PhD students in molecular dynamics and biomaterials research:
∗ Developed protein analysis algorithms (Tcl & Python) for Monte Carlo simulations of a mechanically durable protein produced by E.coli - Curli biofilms - to test for possible surgical and constructional applications.
∗ Researched ways of reprogramming the biosynthesis of Curli biofilms, modifying its structure to serve a desired purpose (e.g selectivity to a specific ion).

    Medvisor (HopHacks '16)
The Addressed Problem Every day, a significant number of patients see their general practitioners only to get redirected by them to a specialist. These cases fill up reservation slots, lengthen waiting times, and waste time that would be more valuable to a patient who could actually receive treatment from his/her GP. Our Solution Medvisor provides an online platform that has two login options: Patient and Doctor. Patients are able to submit their healthcare complaints, including information about their symptoms and concerns. Doctors, who are only able to login by entering a valid medical licence number (or proof of their licence), can read the complaints submitted by the patients. They can then decide whether these patients would benefit fr

Taekwometer (Student Initiatives Fund Award Winner)
Our aim is to provide any level of Taekwondo students with a device that can give them real- time feedback on their techniques. We will achieve our goal through guiding them through their spatial orientations during any of the basic techniques. We determine the spatial orientation of their right-shin using an accelerometer sewed on a right-shin guard. By providing them with vibrational feedback, we will guide the person to achieve an orientation within the uncertainty range of our device.
    • Invented a device that analyzes 3-axis accelerometer and gyroscope data to provide haptic feedback on taekwondo moves based on lower body orientation.
    • Received $120 funding from Student Initiatives Fund.
