Solid state and nuclear material science research with the goal of developing a silicon neutron detector. The role requiered simulation of helium particle transport in silicon and experimental testing of helium retention in the dislocations and defects induced by irradiation after ion implantation using particle accelerators.

I culminated with an early stage working prototype of a silicon neutron detector. It required me to apply independent research, computer simulation of complex transport equations in a high performance computing setting.
