What makes software challenging isn't necessarily the technologies involved. Yes, architecture and code have their understandable place in development, but it's the human elements that will make or break an application. Understanding the various human impacts of your code, on the stakeholders requesting it, on colleagues building, depending on and maintaining it, and of course on the end user, will help ensure you're building something to last. For 10 years, I've been learning and growing as a developer, as a communicator, and as a person. I'm experienced in many industry-standard technologies (Node, React, Typescript, Docker, serverless tech, etc.), as well as various project management techniques and communication styles. I am a firm believer in over-communicating, in proper and exhaustive documentation, in declarative and tested code, and in understanding the big picture when it comes to application architecture and development. I am a strong advocate for DEI initiatives, equitable treatment of workers and effective work-life balance. What I look for in an employer: a compassionate understanding of the impact of their demands on workers, a strong vision of where they want to go as a company, and people who aren't afraid to challenge what they believe. A good match would be: somewhere I can build and grow as an individual, and somewhere I can have a lasting impact both internally and externally.
