Senior Software Engineer with 19 years of experience building backend systems in Ruby on Rails, from REST APIs and complex data models to high-demand, event-driven architectures. My core stack spans PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Sidekiq, with integrations
involving payment systems, OAuth, and webhooks. More recently, I've been incorporating AI-assisted workflows (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) into my daily development process, shipping faster while maintaining code quality and production reliability.
One of the most technically challenging projects I've worked on was Sport Commit, a staff management platform built for large-scale sporting events. When the company needed a solution capable of handling real-time accreditation, shift management, and workforce
logistics across multiple venues, I was brought in first as the engineer who designed and built the system from scratch, delivering the MVP in 7 months, and later as the backend lead during the most critical phase of the product's life. Using Ruby on Rails,
MongoDB, Redis, and Sidekiq, I architected the asynchronous processing layer to sustain real-time data flow under peak load. The platform ended up managing over 5,000 volunteers across 3 countries and was used in 3 major sporting events, including the Pan
American Games in Santiago and the Central American and Caribbean Games, running without critical incidents in production during live events.
I've spent most of my career in environments where the deadline doesn't move. Sports events don't wait, and that shaped how I work. I stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders, and take ownership of problems beyond my
immediate scope. I'm comfortable navigating distributed teams and have worked with professionals across Brazil, Chile, and El Salvador. I'm actively looking for remote roles with international teams, either CLT or PJ, where I can bring both the technical depth
and the cross-cultural adaptability that global products require.
Feel free to reach out. I'm always open to connecting with engineers and recruiters building things worth building.
