As a result of our efforts, Gusto scaled payments from <$1M/day to >$40M/day. - Designed and built highly precise, time-critical systems for ACH, wire, and check payments. Due to my work, human intervention into banking issues dropped from near daily to rare occurrences. - Created early error detection for banking issues before, after, and during money movement. My cofounder and I wanted to make it easier for governments to solve constituent problems. • Worked with governments to understand common issues happening at the city level. Realized that for city managers getting constituents to fill out paper forms and government workers to process them took up a significant part of their time. Used Python and CoffeeScript (a long forgotten compile to JS language). • Built up a paperless system for building forms and evaluating them both automatically and with some human involvement. • Sold this product by calling city governments to promote the system and filling out RFPs.

Sneakpeeq wanted shoppers to buy right off their iPad and participate in the gamified sales more easily. • I was one of 3 developers building the app from zero to one. • Built the architecture on top of Cordova, which meant a lot of optimization of CSS and JS to be able to have a smooth experience. • Learned and built it in a custom JS state-management framework developed in-house.
