I have a great passion for the study of mycology, and it is my goal to foster both a professional and prevalent understanding of the science. I enjoy working with fungi cultures in labs, isolating and transferring fungi samples into petri dishes, as well as proactively discovering and researching both the properties and uses of fungi. I am currently conducting a research study regarding the medicinal constituents of Ganoderma lucidum (also known as Reishi) for its versatile immune support properties as well as its economic viability as a commercial supplement to consumers. I ultimately wish to achieve a predominant standing in research and development relevant to fungi mycelium research: co-evolution and symbiosis theory. I also enjoy the practical application of mycology in agricultural and horticultural settings, hiking forays, general readings, and culinary settings. I have a relevant interest and passion in Geographic Information Systems, especially regarding the "network-archetype" it shares with mycology and related interdisciplinary sciences.
