Suvranil Majumdar

Suvranil is the Managing Director and CEO for GDI South Asia. He led the launch of the GDI South Asia entity in 2023, since then establishing an independent Board, leading and managing the growing portfolio of Initiatives, and building the team. Additionally, Suvranil leads the global GDI Climate Adaptation/Resilience portfolio, including Resilient Water Accelerator (RWA) and Grassroots Mool Capital - Circular Waste Collaborative (GCWC), focused on water and the circular economy, respectively. Suvranil leads the country programs at RWA.

He is a Management and Global Public Policy professional with 22 years of leadership experience in the private sector, international development, and social impact. His past experiences include leading climate resilient initiatives (across mitigation and adaptation) at IFC/World Bank. Suvranil has expertise in leading and managing engagements with governments, the private sector, start-ups, investors, and non-profits in India, Southeast Asia, Africa, the USA, and Europe.

Suvranil has a Bachelor’s in Engineering and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School. He is a founding member of Harvard Climate Entrepreneurship Circle, engaged with startups on product development, go-to-market strategy, and fundraising. At GDI, he is the sponsor of the AI for Good Initiative.
