Tim Watanabe

Former reporter, copy editor & award-winning sports writer with background in community journalism, founder of 501(c)(3) nonprofit and more than a decade of customer service in casino & food/beverage industries. Experienced in writing and copy editing, photography, video producing/editing, event planning/management, customer service and social media promotion. Served as the interim editor for the Bothell-Kenmore Reporter (circulation 24,000+) and was responsible for all aspects of the newspaper's editorial production. Looking to use my experience as a steppingstone to a writing, editing, or media relations career where I can help a company or organization communicate effectively and reach its goals.

In 2013 I founded a 501(c)(3) and Washington State-registered nonprofit organization called Emerald City Critters, which specializes in mascot-style character entertainment for community and charity events in the Puget Sound Region. I am responsible for all of our content, branding, marketing, event appearances, contacting clients and managing our volunteer teams before and during our events.
