Detail
Head of Social, Campus Society. Run, Tyro Magazine.
England, United Kingdom
Tom Sharman MIoD is the founder and CEO of DOUP, probably the world's first fluid agency. We say
probably. We haven't looked. Founded out of frustration, DOUP empowers students and young creatives and
puts them at the doors of leading brands and organisations. Tom is aged 20 years old and studies Web Media at
Ravensbourne alongside working and consulting with events, brands, start-ups and agencies on their Social and
Marketing strategy.
He has worked with some of the biggest tech companies in the world including Google, VICE, BuzzFeed,
Dazed, Facebook, Twitter and more with an impressive client list including: Social Media Week, The Royal
Shakespeare Company, The House of Lords, Eventbrite, Online Influence, VRUK, INSEAD, Hootsuite,
D&AD and glug.
As a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD), one of the world's leading organisations for business leaders
and entrepreneurs. Tom was welcomed into the IoD through the 99 Programme, an initiative to support young
entrepreneurs during their early business development.
As of June 2016, Tom joins Ogilvy & Mather as their Social Media and Content Manager for the self-funded
R&D Innovation branch, Ogilvy Labs. (More can be found: http://ogilvylabs.co.uk).
Tom has "the 'right' instinct about digital in general and social in particular." as said by Social Media Week.
Unlike most entrepreneurs, Tom didn't sell sweets to his friends at school for profit. He ate them. Instead,
Tom worked with YouTube's biggest network Machinima (formally) selling and advising them on 'talent'
generating millions in profit for the network and their talent, which some are still at the top of the YouTube
ladder. All whilst being 13 year old.
Tom has interests in Innovation and new tech (VR/AR in particular). You can contact him via email at
contact@tomsharman.com or tom@doup.agency. He's more than willing to accept beer as a token of gratitude,
whilst he writes this in third person. Weird.
