Hello! My name is Shahmir. Currently in my fourth and final year at the University of Toronto. I’m a software engineer focused on building AI systems that actually ship, from LLM-powered products to scalable ML infrastructure.
Most of my work sits at the intersection of machine learning, agentic systems, and production engineering. I’ve built and deployed multi-agent planners, fine-tuned domain-specific language models, and designed RAG systems that turn messy, unstructured data into fast, reliable insights. I care deeply about taking ideas from “this sounds cool” to clean architecture, measurable impact, and production-ready code.
Recently, I’ve been working on:
• Agentic AI systems that behave like senior engineers: asking the right questions, challenging assumptions, and producing structured outputs
• LLM fine-tuning and evaluation, with a focus on accuracy, relevance, and real-world benchmarks
• Scalable inference and backend systems, built with modern APIs, containerization, and cloud-native tooling
I’m especially interested in roles where I can:
• Own problems end-to-end (design → model → infra → deployment)
• Work on AI products used by real users, not just demos
• Collaborate with strong engineers who care about clarity, rigor, and impact
If you’re building something ambitious in AI, ML, or developer tooling, I’d love to connect.
