Formerly CEO of Telegraph Media Group (publisher of The Telegraph) from June 2017 until January 2024. Managed team of c. 1,200 people. Set subscriptions-first strategy in 2018 and achieved over 1m subscriptions, 500% increase in operating profit (revenue base of ~£275m). Company sold to RedBird IMI (pending regulatory approval). Also acquired Chelsea Magazine Company and restructured entire cost base to invest in core subscription capability. Former NED at Esure (sold to Bain Capital for £1.2b in 2018) and GoCompare (sold to Future for £600m in 2021). Founding Director and NED of Ozone (Ad Tech platform created between four newspapers in 2018, now regarded as one of the leading independent platforms in the UK) Current board member of Childline (part of NSPCC). Highly experienced leader within the media and tech industry, having worked in various internet companies over the last 25 years. Prior to the Telegraph, I worked at Yahoo for 8 years (based in Geneva and then London), with the final role as VP & GM of Yahoo EMEA.
