Marcos KABALA has more than 15 years of experience in technology and systems for government entities. Until last year. He was a senior project manager with the Province of Salta’s Information Technology Department where he was responsible for the planning, monitoring and control of major projects. For instance, he led and managed the implementation of the control center and the video surveillance system for the "911 - Emergencies" project, the "Salta Conectada" project connecting more than 2,100 Provincial public organizations, and the “148” citizen number similar to 311 in the United States. His project management experience includes data centers, management systems, communications, video surveillance, fiber optic networks, connectivity, the management of interdisciplinary ICT teams, and cybersecurity. He participated in numerous IBRD, IaDB and World Bank-financed projects in the area of digital transformation and modernization. Marcos presented at a number of international conferences including "CEBIT 2017" in Hannover, Germany, "SAFE CITY SHENZHEN SUMMIT 2018" in the city of Shenzhen, China, and in numerous events on Smarts Cities and Technology in Chile, Honduras, Holland, Colombia and the United States. He is member of the Federal Council of Public Function, the Federal Telecommunications Council and the Federal Modernization Council representing the Province of Salta from 2011 to 2019, leading in recent years the Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Commission at the national level. Since 2019, he has worked as an independent consultant with different government entities in Argentina, working on modernization and smart city projects.
