Have you ever found yourself at a crossroads in your life, with the opportunity to take a risk and explore the road less travelled by doing something completely different? This is exactly where I found myself 3 years ago.
I could either continue my product management career (which was going well), or take a huge leap and fulfill two dreams, simultaneously: living as a digital nomad, and taking on a brand new challenge by starting my own e-commerce business. I knew it was a risk but I also knew I would regret it if I didn’t go for it, so my husband and I took a deep breath, took the plunge and have been living the life of digital nomads in Europe ever since.
These past 3 years have been exciting, eye-opening, more challenging (and more rewarding) than I ever imagined. I've been able to broaden my skillset into a number of disciplines including marketing, vendor and supply management, accounting, and intellectual property - all while continuing to build my experience in data-driven analysis and growth strategies. I’ve learned perspective, creative thinking, and I now know exactly what it’s like to have skin in the game when making business decisions. I’ve also learned French!
After 3 years, I feel that it's time to get back into my original groove as a product manager, while remaining a digital nomad. I now have a more strategic, entrepreneurial approach along with a boldness for taking big, smart risks, that I am eager to bring back into product management.
