Use of artificial intelligence to solve a 2-player competitive game: the 15 Sticks game

This is a project proposed by Prof. Iñigo Lopez-Gazpio, where some students of the Double Degree in Computer Engineering + Business Administration & Management, at the University of Deusto, wrote a paper with his assistance in the context of the "Intelligent Systems" subject.
In this paper, we analyzed an implementation based on Reinforcement Learning to play the 15 Sticks game better than a human. Afterwards, some experiments were made over several hyperparameters to fine-tune the underlying model and make the software agent proficient in playing this game.
The paper was published in Basque in Ekaia Aldizkaria, an informative magazine created and maintained by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
