Co-Founder, Chief Innovation Officer
United States
I am a practicing physician and scientist with 20+ years experience leading research and innovation funded by NIH, the U.S. Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute and others. In the lab, I am working on supportive care interventions (CommunityRx - a low-intensity, high scale social care intervention) and helping to preserve and restore sexual function for women after cancer (the National Cancer Institute-funded Bionic Breast Project is developing an implantable neuroprosthetic device to restore sensation and mitigate pain after mastectomy). I am a successful impact entrepreneur and serial founder or co-founder, including NowPow, LLC, MAPSCorps 501c3, STEAMe, LLC, and the Scientific Network on Female Sexual Health and Cancer, 501c3. I am an alumna of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program (University of Chicago 2000-02) and an Aspen Institute Health Innovators Fellow and have served the advisory boards for both of these high-impact programs. I am a 2023 Chicago Moth Story Slam winner and was recognized in 2024 on Forbes 50 over 50 Innovators list.
