    The Rhône River Valley in France, a densely populated area with many industrial facilities including several nuclear power plants, was shaken on November 11th 2019, by the Mw 4.9 Le Teil earthquake. Here, we report field, seismological and interferometric synthetic-aperture radar observations indicating that the earthquake occurred at a very shallow focal depth on a southeast-dipping reverse-fault. We show evidence of surface rupture and up to 15cm uplift of the hanging wall along a northeast-southwest trending discontinuity with a length of about 5km.     VoMIR (Volcano Monitoring by InfraRed) is an automated algorithm developed and operated at ESA/Esrin that uses infrared satellite data provided by the Advanced Along Track Scanning Radiometer (AATSR) onboard ENVISAT to detect the thermal anomalies of 361 volcanoes in real time. Since early April 2007, the VoMIR products can be visualised and downloaded freely from Internet at http://vomir.esrin.esa.int.

    Generation of ENVISAT ASAR Mosaics accessible on-line

    This paper describes the routine generation of ASAR mosaics at ESRIN and their distribution via Web map servers. ASAR products are automatically collected from various processing sites to be geocoded and mosaicked on the GRID Processing on Demand system at ESRIN. New mosaics are automatically transferred to an OpenGIS Web map server where they can be directly visualized at full resolution by external users. The generation of mosaics involves several processing steps including antenna pattern correction and compensation of incidence angle depending on vegetation type. Several map projections are supported including polar stereographic projections (Arctic and Antarctic's) as well as Plate Carre acutee projections (entire World).
