In 2020, I left the comfort of working at a large employer and founded Athena Actuarial Consulting with the goal to align my career with my passions and shift the way that I engage with my clients, team members and communities.My job as an actuary is to support my clients in navigating, managing and mitigating the risk associated with the uncertain world that we live in. Now more than ever, public sector entities are having to make difficult decisions about their retirement, health & welfare plans. I strive to be a collaborative partner to my state, local and federal government clients as opposed to a transactional service provider. My role as a business owner is to assemble diverse teams that bring a different perspective to an otherwise traditional industry; challenging the status quo is crucial to building the most effective and efficient solutions to our clients’ problems. I founded Athena Actuarial Consulting in 2020 after a decade of working at two large actuarial employers. My passion as a human is to make others feel “seen”. I believe that empathy is a superpower when it comes to seeing real change in the world. It is a core value of my company and my life.
