Most funded startups hit the same wall: you have runway and a roadmap, and not enough team to ship it before the next board update.
I run The DaaS Labs. You buy a sprint, not a month: fixed scope, fixed price, and named engineers assigned to you for its whole length. Median four days from the scoping call to the first commit in your repository.
Prices are published, so no discovery call is needed to get one. A two-week Commerce Lab sprint (Shopify Plus, custom checkout, headless) is $1,400. Dev Lab for web is $2,000, mobile $2,800, AI Lab $4,500. One or two weeks, agreed on a 30 minute call. Your IP from day one, in writing. First 14 days refundable, whatever the sprint length.
Recent work:
Habbal Jewellery sells diamonds seven different ways, D2C through to B2B auctions, and all seven now run on one Medusa.js backbone. Seven modules, 12 sprints, six months.
SeaRebbel builds marine autopilot hardware. We put their MATLAB routing SDK in a skipper's hand: draw a line on the water with your finger and the boat sails it. 18 sprints, one React Native codebase, live on iOS and Play.
Pipers Farm came for theme fixes and stayed fourteen months. A legacy theme and a checkout on a deprecation clock, both migrated in two.
Running the agency taught me something I did not expect. The hard part was never the code. It was answering one question, over and over: is this engineer actually good? A CV never once answered it.
So we built our own answer, and it is now its own product. HireBench: an engineer gets vetted once, through a proctored skill assessment scored by AI and then read by hand, plus a recorded technical interview with an industry expert. That record stays attached to them instead of being thrown away after one application. Free for engineers, always.
Which means we do not staff sprints from CVs. Nobody reaches a client build without clearing that bar first, and the work of finding out who clears it happens on our time rather than on your project.
Ten years as CTO and technical lead across SaaS, eCommerce and AI products. Before The DaaS Labs I led engineering for a recruitment platform, which is where a lot of this started.
If your roadmap is moving slower than it was three months ago, message me. Tell me what you would ship this month if hiring were not the bottleneck, and I will tell you honestly whether we are the right people for it.
