Ryan Knuese

I am a full-stack developer at Northwestern Mutual, working primarily with TypeScript and React on AWS. I enjoy full-stack work because it allows me to work on both the back-end and front-end of an application, which keeps things interesting. Having worked remotely for the past 2+ years, I've come to enjoy the freedom and increased productivity of this style of work. I am an independent and driven individual and have no issues with being motivated while working remotely. Writing clean, elegant code is extremely important to me. Code that is riddled with code smells or low in test coverage will bother me until it is fixed. I ensure that any new code that I contribute to a project is high quality and well-tested. Other languages I have used include Java, JavaScript/NodeJS, and C#. I have also been using technologies like Docker and Gitlab CI, as well as AWS resources. I have been heavily involved in the rollout of AWS serverless at Northwestern Mutual (AWS CDK, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions).
