    The purpose of this project is to identify ways in which smart technology can be used to improve energy efficiency in the home. The devices that are primarily used are smartphones, these are used to collect data. Information is collected about the device, user and environment. This is combined and additional data sources are added to provide feedback to the user about light, temperature and energy usage in their home. Active feedback is given for light and temperature readings, while passive feedback is given for energy usage. The results show that without additional hardware both light and energy usage feedback can be provided with some accuracy.
