I love my job, I love my team, and I love our customers. Prior to starting PTG I held several sales positions ranging from Inside Sales, Inside Sales VP, Outside Sales in APAC, and Outside Sales in the US for Datastream Systems, Inc. After the business was sold to a much larger organization in 2007 I decided that was as good a time as any to start an IT services company. Little did I know that 2008 was going to be such a crazy year (financial crisis, anyone?). With two great friends (Eric Pohl and Chris Vanzant), we managed to make it through 2008 (mostly) unscathed. We figured if we could make it through that – we could make it through anything. Looking back on it – my time at Datastream taught me a lot about how to run an organization based on sheer determination, grit, awesome teammates who share a common vision, and the importance of taking care of customers. Today, at PTG, my job is focused primarily on helping my team serve the IT needs of our customers with a focus on leveraging Microsoft Cloud Solutions, improving productivity, and keeping their data safe. I also get to work with other IT business owners thanks to my involvement with the ConnectWise/HTG Peer Groups. Helping other people through business challenges is fun for me – and I’ve found that I usually learn way more in the process! PTG has received multiple awards from Microsoft, the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, and the Inc. 5000, but our best award is the trust that our customers place in our ability to serve them…so that they can serve their customers.
