Head of Sales
California, United States
I am a senior sales leader with the heart of an academic and the track record of a closer.
Before I spent 15 years in enterprise software and AI sales, I was in graduate school training to become a professor. While I ultimately chose the boardroom over the lecture hall, that academic foundation defines my approach to go-to-market strategy and talent enablement. I approach sales leadership with the rigor of a researcher and the passion of a teacher.
I use my background in education to break down complex concepts, ensuring my teams aren't just memorizing scripts but mastering the "why" behind the "how." This focus on continuous learning helps me develop top-tier talent and adapt quickly to industry shifts.
Over the last 15 years, including a decade in senior leadership at organizations like Cisco, Dropbox, and several successful startup exits, I have utilized this background to build revenue engines that are both scalable and resilient. My core philosophy over those years has centered on:
Enablement as a Revenue Driver:
I treat talent development as an educational imperative. By constructing enablement programs that focus on critical thinking and the underlying mechanics of our industry, I build teams that can adapt to shifts in the market rather than just reciting a pitch.
Dual Horizon Approach:
Strategy fails without execution. Effective leadership requires the ability to toggle between a 36-month strategic vision and immediate tactical execution, as high-level strategy must be informed by ground-level reality. I actively participate in deal cycles and team management to diagnose friction points firsthand, ensuring that our long-term planning is always rooted in the operational truth of the market.
Methodological Discipline:
I build precision into the sales process, having led teams at strict MEDDPICC organizations like BMC Software (BladeLogic invented MEDDPICC) and AppDynamics. I've taken this operational rigor everywhere I've gone, and it has helped me scale up multiple startups to acquisition, as well as deliver growth far beyond expectations at larger enterprises like Cisco and Dropbox.
I'm passionate about roles where I can leverage my love for teaching to develop talent, dissect complex market challenges, and drive scalable growth.
