    Letters
    Feb 2014 - Dec 2015 (1 year 11 months)
We all have stories, some we tell ourselves, and others are told about us. They contribute to who we are but by no means define us. Some are handed to us by circumstances, others we craft by choice. Ultimately, we write our own stories and can influence how they end. In the upcoming book "Letters..", I share my own story, not as a call for pity but a pouring of hope, a manifestation of the resilience of the human spirit, and most of all an exploration into the power of providing opportunity. What is your story and how are you choosing to write it? This is my story, follow me as I revisit my past, live in the present, and explore how I choose to influence the end.

      History And Society Award
      Babson College
      May 2014
"As I say, especially in our classrooms, she shone brightly. An intellectual at heart, she’s really an ideal student: open, smart, hardworking, generous with her peers. She brings a world of experience to bear on what she reads and is never shy about articulating her thoughts and ideas. She has a really fierce sense of what’s unjust in the world. We chose her as our H&S Student of the Year because make no mistake about it: Betty is going after what is unjust in the world, and our history, our society, will be the better for it---just as I feel better just having known her here for these few short years. Congratulations, Betty."

Social Entrepreneurship in Africa: What works, what doesn't-and why
See ChangeThe Magazine of Social Entrepreneurship
"If social entrepreneurship is going to gain traction in Africa, then Africans themselves will need to shape it in ways that are meaningful to them. Roland Fomumdam, who teaches social entrepreneurship at Cameroon Christian University, says that there is a need to define social entrepreneurship and distinguish how it is unique and different from standard entrepreneurship.
    This is a community-created genome.
