Valentina Ratner

At heart, I’m an engineer. I love building real world things and improving the way we build them. Early in my career, I watched incredibly capable teams build complex systems using workflows that had not really evolved. Billion dollar infrastructure was held together by outdated tools, scattered files, and manual reviews. As hardware grew more complex, the way teams collaborated, reviewed designs, and shared context felt stuck. That stayed with me, and I decided to do something about it. AllSpice started as an effort to bring modern software practices, and now AI, into hardware development. These days, I don’t build hardware products hands-on anymore, but I get to live vicariously through the teams we support, building everything from autonomous vehicles to rockets. Every time one of their products launches, sometimes quite literally 🚀, I’m proud to be even a small part of their journey. The best part of my job is talking to brilliant engineers. I often start those conversations with the same question: if you had a magic wand, what do you wish technology or AI could do for you at work? Their answers guide how I help teams fight their tools less and spend more time doing the work they’re best at. Originally from Argentina, I moved to Boston for school and now live in San Francisco with my husband, young son, and very sassy miniature schnauzer.
