Optimizing Data Analysis with a Semi-structured Time Series Database
    OCT
In this paper, we present Splunk, a semistructured time series database that can be used to index, search and analyze massive heterogeneous datasets. We share observations, lessons and case studies from real world datasets, and demonstrate Splunk’s power and flexibility for enabling insightful data mining searches.

Experiences with workload management in splunk
    Sep
Organizations are constantly overwhelmed with challenges of big data management resulting from data floods produced by various computer systems and components. Mining this data deluge can produce invaluable insights for the business and for operations. However, the organization must first tackle issues of efficient data storage and retrieval. In this paper, we describe unique qualitative characteristics of big data, challenges posed by big data workloads, and how Splunk both manages such workloads and facilitates customers' workload management problems.
