Katya Alexander is an award-winning filmmaker and producer working at the intersection of
storytelling and emerging technology. As Head of Production at Fable’s Showrunner, she is
helping shape the future of AI-driven entertainment—bridging cinematic craft with cutting-edge
tools to redefine how stories are created and experienced. Known for her curiosity, creative
intuition, and technical fluency, Katya is driven by a belief that technology should expand, not
replace human storytelling.
Her career spans feature films, documentary filmmaking, and immersive productions across the
globe. From SXSW-winning projects to deploying cameras with NASA, Katya has built a
reputation for bringing ambitious ideas to life in complex environments. Her producing work
reflects a deep commitment to protecting the “soul” of a story while navigating the realities of
production, whether on remote international shoots or large-scale creative collaborations.
Katya’s experience has taken her everywhere from Zambia to Antarctica, often working in
high-stakes, unpredictable conditions that demand both creative problem-solving and strong
leadership. She is particularly known for her ability to operate at the intersection of film, AI, and
emerging media—translating new technologies into meaningful storytelling tools. Through her
work, she continues to explore how AI can enhance creative workflows, unlock new formats,
and push the boundaries of what filmmaking can be.
Beyond her production work, Katya is deeply committed to mentorship and opening doors for
the next generation of filmmakers. Katya mentors 10–15 Emerson students,
offering guidance on breaking into the industry and building sustainable creative careers. She is
passionate about demystifying the path into film and supporting diverse voices in storytelling.
Katya Alexander is building toward a clear vision: when a project sits at the intersection of film,
AI, and the future of storytelling, she is the first person people think to call.
