I lead engineering for Lightspeed Financial Services — Payments, Capital, Invoicing, and the foundational platform capabilities supporting Onboarding, Risk and Underwriting Operations. My career has been a series of regulated and high-stakes domains: security systems, large-scale e-commerce at Jet.com/Walmart, HIPAA-regulated healthcare at Capsule, and now Financial Services. I tend to pick a domain and go deep. Three things I think about most: 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. The kind that keep working without constant push. Clear ownership, high standards, a hiring bar that compounds over time. 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬. Monoliths to cloud-native, acquired systems to platforms, vendor-locked stacks to open ones. The pattern is the same every time. 𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭. Not as a tooling layer, but as a change in how engineering organizations operate. I am bullish, and I am pragmatic about it. My operating model: think deeply, move quickly, treat people with the kindness they deserve. Outcomes over outputs. Clarity over coordination.
