Research Experience for Undergraudates (REU) is a program that pays students to do research at Universities across the country. I was lucky enough to be part of a group that worked at University of North Texas (UNT) on automated bug detection.
The research consisted of seeding bugs into a piece of software, and then attempting to come up with a set of functional tests that would find as many of the bugs as possible.
After the program was done, I continued by exploring methods of generating flows to automatically generate test data with single page web apps by using JavaScript and Xpaths to generate Selenium flows. I was able to come up with a basic proof of concept.
