We all sometimes get frustrated by things we use in our daily life. And picking what to engage with is becoming an increasingly difficult choice in today’s saturated economy. The power of UX research lies in setting products and services apart from the crowd by maximizing their value to consumers. The two biggest motivators for me to be an excellent researcher are: first, witnessing the ways that user research optimizes products’ business and positive impact on users; and second, the more I learn about human needs and capabilities, the more I understand the world around me and myself. I approach business with the same human factors considerations as I do with design research because caring about improving users' lives - truly investing in their long-term well-being and trust - saves an immense amount of time and resources, paying dividends in returns. If the intention is to build something great, offer something great with no snags. Thoughtfully researched, responsible design endures more than clever design that's lacking in integrity. Previously, I have: - Led the 2019-2020 DFA National (Design for America) project with YMCA in San Diego to design a lifeguard recruitment and retention program more aligned with candidates' goals. - Supported startups at the UCSD Launchpad The Basement as one of the first active researchers at student-founded Fi UX Agency. - Worked at The UCSD Design Lab where I created testing protocols and performed user research for real-world clients under the leadership of "the father of UX Design", Don Norman. When I am not working, I attend graduate classes at Bentley University's McCallum Business School where I study Human Factors in Information Design; I am an avid runner and will be running my first marathon this February at the Ventura Marathon.
