Electronics Manufacturing Order Pick Time Optimization - ISYE Capstone Design
Spectral Response, an Atlanta based electronics manufacturer approached us with high order pick times, long time distances, high overtime pay with their Surface Mounted Technology (SMT) Warehouse. We developed client tailored heuristics to reduce order pick time for by re-slotting the SMT Warehouse. Heuristics reduced overtime pay, increased internal visibility, increased on-time delivery, and expanded order capacity. We also designed a New Part Slotter Tool which assigned parts in new orders the most efficient picking location in the warehouse.
