Healthcare should be about the people it serves. For decades, however, we’ve built systems that prioritize everything but the consumer. As the founder of Thatch, I’m here to change that.
Our mission is simple: to build a healthcare system people love. I believe we can fix the system by putting individuals back at the center: empowering them to choose the healthcare they need.
The healthcare industry is stuck in the past. In large part, it's a relic of a WWII-era decision to tie healthcare to employment. Today, employer healthcare costs are rising faster than they have in 15 years: the traditional “defined benefit” model of group health insurance is failing.
Thatch provides the solution, enabling the shift to a “defined contribution” model for health benefits (ICHRA), doing for healthcare what 401(k) did for pensions. By decoupling the employer from the healthcare decision, we give companies financial predictability and employees the power of choice of plans in the stable, 25-million-member individual market of the ACA.
We need healthcare that works for people. I believe that if we put the consumer at the center, American healthcare can become the greatest healthcare system in the world.
If you’re ready to rethink healthcare, let’s connect.
