In my view, it builds a mental prison, one in which you become institutionalized and compelled to lie in order to maintain a sense of value, meaning, and confidence. This issue extends beyond legal gambling. Illegal gambling often becomes the preferred choice for individuals, despite their awareness of the risks, which involve far more than just financial loss. This paper explores and critiques the complex relationship individuals develop with both legal and illegal gambling, ultimately examining why some may prefer one form over the other.
