On location as an onsite IT Manager for PowerWell Services. This was a purchase of a division of Halliburton into its own company with many other purchases rolled into it over the next 2 years. I had to devise an IT strategy to take us from being part of a very large IT infrastructure to our own independent infrastructure in a short span of time while retaining the services needed by our users. Developed an IT infrastructure that provided better services in a matter of weeks through the liberal use of IaaS and SaaS providers.

After success with the pre-sales group I also formed a consulting group to provide contract and consulting services. I then became the Director of Professional Services over both pre- and post-sales engineering and consulting. Was promoted to VP of Strategic Technology when working with our team to develop the business plan to go into the managed services business and build data centers for managed hosting. After being heavily involved with the process to secure $20MM in venture capital and working wi

    PowerWell Services IT Infrstructure
    Jan 2004 - Dec 2005 (2 years)
Managed a project to build an IT infrastructure for PowerWell Services, a spin-off corporation created from people and assets that were purchased from Halliburton by a group of investors. This company began with 500 employees spread in 30 countries around the world with their laptops suddenly cut off from any infrastructure. It was my task to create the entire IT infrastructure for the company and to remotely convert all those users and machines while working hand-in-hand with a consulting group on implementing SAP from the ground up. A very efficient design based upon a Software as a Service (SaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) model (managed servers, Exchange, WAN, and ERP) was put into place and a centralized helpdesk was crea

Enterprise Architecture at Baylor College of Medicine
Baylor College of Medicine’s Human Genome Sciences Center has been a long-time consulting client both through my time at MW Solutions and with Pick2. I began with the HGSC as a contract IT Director and guided them through several key projects while they searched for a permanent replacement. This relationship continued for over 7 years and specific projects undertaken have involved: • Building a SAN infrastructure utilizing multiple Cisco MDS switches. Received formal Cisco training on MDS design, implementation, and operation. • Implementation of a Network Appliance (NetApp) filer including snapshot functionality. Evaluated NetApp SAN connect but chose not to implement it. • Evaluated many different storage solutions from EMC, IBM, NetAp
