I was able to shape the direction and vision of our software and grow the team to deliver features and services ahead of the competition and market expectations. Overseeing the development of hardware solutions, a cloud platform, edge computing and distributed AI systems, let me push my boundaries and discover new ways of working. The solutions we built enabled previously impossible decision making by our end users. I was heavily involved in the acquisition of Neokami and Proximetry. The former, a data Science specialist based in Munich seeded our AI Department. The Latter formed the Basis of our Device Management and Edge Computing stack. I built up a management team to grow a Product and Engineering team of 120 employees over three sites.

I Joined relayr as co-founder and Engineer #1, and built a great team of people. We launched an ambitious MVP involving hardware, a cloud platform, SDKs and APIs - a complete ecosystem for building Internet of Things solutions. Initially we attracted over 6000 developers using our IoT platform. In 2015 we pivoted the business to focus more on enterprise and refocused the technology for industrial companies, and were an early leader in the Industrial Internet of Things Market.

I worked initially at NumberFour as a Senior Engineer on the "Web Team". Our main goal was to develop an SDK for a Business PaaS. Part of the process naturally involved developing a number of Apps as a Proof of Concept for the SDK. The software itself all ran in any standard WebKit browser As a JavaScript Expert I worked closely with our compiler team, as well folk from the Business, UI and Documentation Teams. I took personal responsibility for moving the team to a test-centric development style. I even wrote a multi-browser testing server facility which allowed us to perform automated testing before NumberFour hired a dedicated QA Team. This guaranteed a smooth development from the earliest prototypes to the hundreds of thousands of lines

Lead Developer at the Less Rain Group. Less Rain was an internet design agency, specialising in Flash with offices in Berlin, London and Tokyo. I was responsible for developing all non-flash UIs and Server-Side Programming. I was required to work across time zones and language barriers. I built not only web supporting back-ends but blogging systems, Intranets and a video conversion service I co-ordinated external staff and suppliers and was responsible for training and sometimes mentoring junior members of the team. I was involved in the conception, planning and budgeting of projects. Was often involved in pitching and frequently worked as a client contact through the development, launch and maintenance of projects.

We developed the concept further as an interactive dancefloor as part of the Dutch Electronic Arts Festival. Sibling groups of the time were Anti-Rom, Header and JODI.
